About Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region

Big Brothers Big Sisters

For 45 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region has provided life-changing mentoring relationships to local children.

Our mission is to help children reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. We match children with our adult volunteers (called Big Brothers and Big Sisters) who share their time, friendship and encouragement.

Our approach has ranked us among the nation's most effective youth programs by helping children succeed in school and avoid harmful behaviors.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region is the area's largest youth mentoring organization serving children in Albany, Rensselaer, Schenectady and Saratoga counties. Today, more than 500 local children are matched with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
